Sike-O was a clothing store and clothing brand which appeared as a major company in Coloring book. Sike-O is presented as a dying buisness which only survives due to its cult status. It is the preferred brand of Cori Ewwitz and the majority of the homeless community of the comb.
Sike-O is a mostly non profit organization which provides job training, employment placement for the disabled and stability for independent entrepreneurs and artists. Mostly known for its avante garde take on charity, Sike-O gains all of its funds from receiving donated used products, mostly clothing, and recycling it in the shape of the brand. The company hires tattoo and graffiti artists for its infamously offensive graphic tees and various other products. Though not exactly a chain of thrift stores, the vary foundation of the company is to create a network of income stable enough to give the socially disadvantaged, both the customers and the employees, an affordable living. While this all sounds curious and well intended, the company's delivery is not the first thing that is noticed by the public.
The most notable detail about the Sike-O brand is its questionable and outwardly offensive designs. With multiple famous slogans such as "Kill-Yoself" or "Eat-yoself", as well as morally ambiguous clothing designs like dikini get ups (A bikini disguised as casual clothing) or Jaggies (Jeans made for the sole purpose of sagging). The most common concern is the strong sense of personality which the store holds. The stores owner Jared Dike, holds strong beliefs of left wing views and art house hedonism, which is reflected strongly in his store's fashion. The small stores are often decorated with graffiti and stickers and the chain only hires people of a lower income status. Even though the business is small, the stores often hold strong in terms of decorative design: holding tanks of piranhas and housing vending machines which sell contraceptives.
The most vital role which the store plays in the story is as Cori Ewwitz's favorite brand. It also plays a major role in the mythology of the generation of runaways as Jared Dike wanted to create a subculture primarily for the homeless and orphaned. At the beginning of the story the company is under a wide arrange of criticism due to family advocate groups deeming the stores clothing as inappropriate. The store also suffers from funding and budget cuts due to a decrease in popularity and negative views aimed at its means of manufacturing.
